Parents are the cornerstone of Olympian’s success and research has proven that parent involvement has a positive effect on student success. Here are a few of our parents who supported Olympian last year:
Robert and Elizabeth Armendariz – Parents of Angleica (Class of 2011) and Alejandro, Parents have been very active in our cheer program and Mrs. Armendariz was our Eagle Mascot on several games and events at Olympian!
Joe and Debi Boehm – Parents of Whitney (Class of 2010, attending San Diego State University) and Josie (10th grader). Mr. Boehm is past president of the PTSO, Mrs. Boehm is past treasurer of PTSO and both are supporters of the Girls’ Tennis.
Fil and Juliet Buenviaje – Parents of Jillian (Class of 2011, attending San Diego State University) and Marcus (11th grader). Mrs. Buenviaje is past president of PTSO. Both parents are supportive basketball and volleyball programs.
Steve and Elizabeth Exum – Parents of Steven (Class of 2011, attending University of Redlands) and Ali (future Olympian) Mr. Exum designed the Olympian Eagle Logo and was past president of the Football boosters, Mrs. Exum teaches at Olympian High and was the past senior class advisor
Stanley and Adriana Gibson – Parents of Dre (Class of 2011 President, attending University of Redlands), Asante (12th grader accepted to Harvard), Sagon (11th grader) & Isaiah (11th grader). Mr. Gibson has been part of the football and track coaching staff, both have been active parents in the all of their kids extra-curricular activities (including last year's senior class activities
David and Gloria Grylls – Parents of John(Class of 2010, attending Cal Poly, Pomona) and Colin(Class of 2011, attending Palomar College), both parents have been supporters of football, baseball, and academic decathlon, Mr. Grylls served on the district’s budget advisory committee.
John and Karina McIntyre – Parents of Katerina (12th grader), Mrs. McIntyre has served as the ELAC president and has represented Olympian at the district ELAC meetings.
Carlos and Andre Robledo – Parents of 3 children, their oldest is Ricardo (Olympian’s class of 2010, attending Harvard University), Giovanna (11th grader), and Ellie(9th grader). Both Mr. and Mrs. Robledo have been involved in speaking and participating at our Parent Training Workshops and supporters of our VAPA program
John and Angie Rodgers – Parents of Brandon (Class of 2010) and Ashley (grade 12), Mr. Rodgers was past president of the football boosters and both have been very active in supporting both athletic and academic programs.
Steve and Martha Stingl – Parents of Patrick (Grade 11), the Stingls are heavy supporters of our band program
Paul and Noralynn VanNostrand – Parents of Ryan (Class of 2010, Southwestern College) and Tori (grade 12, ASB President 2011-12), Mr. VanNostrand has been part of the football coaching staff (and is a teacher at OHS), both Mr. and Mrs. VanNostrand are staunch supports of our athletic programs
Kevin and Angela Voas – Parents of Tyler (Class of 2011, attending San Diego State University) and Kayla 10th grader, Mrs. Voas is past vice president of the PTSO and both have been supporters of the baseball boosters and softball programs.
Jay and Sherry Warren-Parents of Ashleigh (Class of 2010, attending University of San Diego) and Alexandria (11th grader), Mr. Warren is past president of PTSO and has been a featured speaker at our parent trainings, both have been supporters of the Girls’ basketball program.
