Dear Olympian High School 9th graders,

This is a reminder that we have a very exciting Link Crew Freshmen orientation for all incoming 9th grade students.  The freshmen orientation is on Wednesday July 15th from 8am – 12 noon in the school gymnasium.  Students will meet with their senior link leader and get to know other incoming 9th grade students, plus get a tour of the school.

At the same time we will have a 9th grade parent orientation in the MPR (Multi-Purpose room) from 8am – 9am to give more information to parents about what to expect for the 9th grade year.

We will also distribute student course selections and we will be selling PE uniforms and Eagle Gear – cash only.  Please call the school if you have any questions at 619-656-2400.

OHS Band Pops Concert Sat, May 30th at 5:00PM

The band would like to invite the community to our annual end of the year “Pops Concert” this Saturday, May 30th.  It will be held in the grass area outside the cafeteria with the concert beginning at 5:00pm.

The music to be performed will be …

·         Music Selections from the Marching Season

·         Jazz Band performance of Mission Impossible, The Pink Panther, Walk the Dinosaur, Birdland, and Beyond the Sea (featuring vocals by Chloe Munguia-Flores)

·         Concert Band performance of music from Nightmare Before Christmas, Aladdin, Star Trek Into Darkness, a medley called Who’s That Masked Man (Lone Ranger, Spiderman, Phantom of the Opera, Incredibles, Mask of Zorro), and a special performance with alumni joining us playing music from Pirates of the Caribbean.

If you’re available, please come by.  The students would love to have the support of their community, teachers and administration for their end of the year event.  It is also our final event for our great senior class.  We have about 1/3 of our band as seniors, so it’s a very large class that would love to see you all one more time.

Thank you,

Eric Mabrey
